Wild weather hits big trees
by Shane Sody
Wild weather last weekend had a major impact in your Park Lands.
Several trees were brought down, and some parts of your Park Lands resembled swimming pools after much higher than normal rainfall over the 9th to 12th of December.
The Bureau of Meteorology reported 70mm of rain in Adelaide over this four-day period. Wind speeds over that same period peaked at 69 km/h.
Here are some of the images contributed by our Park Lands followers.
Sue Lewis sent us these pics (above) of the weather’s after-effects in Peppermint Park / Wita Wirra (Park 18).
Kim Woods sent us the short video (above) and the pictures (below) of an overflowing wetland in G.S. Kingston Park / Wirrarninthi (Park 23)
In Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi (Park 16) more than one large tree came down alongside the “Sweat Track” near East Terrace.
