Undoubtedly Ivana
by Carla Caruso
Adelaide digital creator Ivana Fittock is known for her love of colour (including regularly changing her hair’s hue), her infectious smile — and for often styling shoots against a pink-striped wall.
The 35-year-old from the north-eastern suburbs also loves a trip to your Adelaide Park Lands, as seen on her Instagram page, Undoubtedly Ivana.
Nicknamed ‘Ivanasaurus Rex’, she’s a busy woman, with 10,000-plus followers online. Recently, we sat down with her for a chat.
Hi, Ivana. Please tell us about how your page, Undoubtedly Ivana, got started. What do you hope people take away from viewing your content?
The page came about as a very happy accident. It started as more of a personal page, like everyone else’s, and then I started posting more outfits, engaging with other creator accounts — and I blinked, and here we are!
My hope is that people are inspired to wear more colour and their ‘fancy clothes’ MORE OFTEN!
[This includes] dressing for yourself and having fun with your outfits, and also [me] showing many different ways to incorporate colour into your wardrobe.
What’s your work background? Have you worked in fashion or modelling previously?
It is all very much a passion project and a hobby for me.
I have a marketing degree and have worked in many different industries, from electrical wholesale to child protection – not your glamour industries!
We notice you’ve featured the Adelaide Park Lands various times on your page. Do you have a favourite park?
I have a few I love to visit. I love the Botanic Garden [Park 11] and the Himeji Garden [in Park 18] the most!
Any special memories from time spent in the Adelaide Park Lands?
I have great memories of being in my sister’s wedding in the Veale Gardens [Park 21]. It was an amazing day and the most perfect setting.
I have also been sitting in the Himeji Garden many times, and wedding parties have come in to have their photos, and it’s so nice to see – almost every time I go!
What keeps you busy when you’re not content-creating or meandering the parks?
I am a huge gym junkie and group fitness instructor. So, basically every night of the week and on Saturday mornings, you will find me at the gym!
Finally, where is the pink-striped wall that’s often featured on your page? And what draws you to bright colours?
I have always been a ‘brighter, the better’ person. When I was younger, my childhood room was the brightest yellow I think I’ve seen to date. I don’t actually know how I could sleep in there!
I feel more myself in colour. I am a huge believe in ‘dopamine dressing’ – wearing bright colours or fun patterns to lift your mood.
The pink-stripe wall is just in my house! It was a random spur-of-the-moment decision one weekend [to paint it].
I first toyed around with the idea of changing the colour of the stripes every so often, but I can’t let go of the pink.
