This is a painting of contrasts. Contrasts of culture and contrasts of a walked experience. Two walks in particular, through the southern edge of the city alongside the so named Carriageway Park where Tuthangga park 17 is undergoing a regrowth and replanting of wallaby and spear grasses by the group "Bush for life" as depicted. The second walk through the botanic gardens along the north edge of the city where the landscape is cultivated through a different lens. This painting accommodates, adapts painterly grafts and transplants forms from two walks, two pasts, two interpretations and impositions onto landscape.
