Victoria Square
English name: Victoria Square.
Named after the Princess Victoria (before she became the Queen)
Kaurna name: Tarntanyanggga (meaning “red kangaroo dreaming”)
Features: the John Dowie "Three Rivers" fountain, Kaurna reconciliation Plaza, tram line, St Francis Xavier Cathedral, Supreme Court, District Court, and of course a central statue of Queen Victoria
Victoria Square is the geographic centre of the city of Adelaide. It hosts a wide varierty of community events throughout the year including the 'Tour Down Under' village in January (as pictured below) and "Tasting Australia" in April, among many others
