The beautiful shapes and textures of trees and old wood in nature have often been the subject of my inspiration. This particular tree is at the entrance to the Adelaide Parklands off North Terrace. The character of its trunk, bounded by fencing, paving and city has endured regardless of the barriers enforced on it by inner city living. In this artwork, I have focussed on the character of the bark, juxtaposed against the man-made boundaries. It is a picture of strength and is truly an inspiration.
