"green worship place" - Reb Rowe
‘green worship place’ presents a sparkling, reimagined map of Tarntanya/Adelaide, where the city's Park Lands and Karrawirra Pari/River Torrens, burst forth in luscious colour, contrasting with the muted tones of the built environment.
This leadlight glass panel- a medium traditionally associated with sacred spaces- encourages contemplation and awe as it reflects the Park Lands as a luminous, spiritual sanctuary.
The artist invites viewers to appreciate these green havens encircling Adelaide, as a true sacred space for nature within the city, and a place of inspiration and reverence for Earth.
This glass map seeks to guide and direct viewers to a deeper appreciation for the Park Lands, urging them to connect with nature and embrace a more biodiverse and greener future for Adelaide.
Leadlight glass panel 75 x 55 cm
I have two display options for the piece- it is mounted in a frame to hang on a wall (needs backlighting though), but it can also be inserted into it's upright lightbox (depth <500mm) if display on a pedestal is preferred.
