My artwork depicts Nankeen Kestrels mid flight, displaying all the intricacies of their feathers. An aspect of the Adelaide Park Lands which inspires me to create art is the wildlife, In particular the diverse birdlife.

I am fascinated with how the Park Lands foster a self-sustaining environment, providing a glimpse of the natural Australian ecosystem, whilst simultaneously being imbedded within a city landscape. This easy accessibility to view nature and its natural processes has led me to observe how an apex predator bird, the Nankeen Kestrel, interacts and preys upon other creatures living within and relying upon the area.

As I am inspired by this concept, I decided to portray Nankeen Kestrels as a symbol of the self-sustaining nature of the Park Lands which help create an area rich with plant life and teeming with animal life. This provides an ongoing source of inspiration for me as depicted throughout my art.
