"Una" - Georgina Mills & Adam Tarns
In this collaboration, the worlds of Adam Tarns a contemporary graffiti/mural artist and Georgina Mills a classically trained sculptor meet to create a unique reinterpretation of both genres. Inspiring a dialogue between the different styles found within the Adelaide parklands.
Ever since the art form existed, graffiti has been a part of the Park Lands and over time has evolved to be integral to its dynamic urban landscape.
Classical inspired public sculptures are scattered throughout the parkland’s formal gardens, often blending with its environment and representing moments in history.
This collaboration attempts to bridge these two forms of art both past and present, through exploring how diverse influences can come together to create something new. Challenging the 'eyesore' and public nuisance misconception often attributed to the graffiti counterculture and the conventionality and rigidness often associated with high-end classical art.
