The cool comfort of winter is a wonderful time to go walking. Our Guided Walks are the perfect way to slow down and enjoy exploring your Open, Green, Public garland of parks while learning about and observing the treasures they hold - and the pitfalls they face.
The welcoming walkers on APA guided walks don’t waver in wintery weather either.
On Sunday 31st July, Park Ambassador and APA President, Shane Sody led a group of twelve walkers on a two-hour tour of Bonython Park/Tulya Wardli (Park 27).
Pushing through one brief shower and a chilly breeze, the rugged-up and well-prepared walkers visited twenty locations in a loop from the Bonython Park kiosk and back.
These walks provide an opportunity to slow down and look… actually look… and experience the moment.
As the group passed the SA Police horse yards in Kate Cocks Park, two police greys ambled past on their own Sunday walk after a hard night on Hindley Street duty.
Little things like this add context and detail along with the narrated history from the Park Ambassador.
You’re not just walking these walks - you’re learning and soaking in atmosphere and history with others - you can listen, learn, ask questions, and discuss things in real time.
It’s a shared moment celebrating the kind of exploration that inspires us to protect and restore your Park Lands.
There’s much more to your Adelaide Park Lands if you take the time to slow down and dig a little deeper. An APA Guided Walk is the ideal way to do this. Register for a Guided Walk now: we’d love to see you (and your dog).
If you missed this walk, you can take it any time, at your own pace, using our on-line Trail Guide to Bonython Park / Tulya Wardli (Park 27) or do the same with any of our other Trail Guides to other parts of your Park Lands.
