How would you like to introduce others to favourite parts of your Adelaide Park Lands?
We're looking for six volunteers to join our team of Park Ambassadors, each "adopting" a Park.
The duties are simple: lead a Guided Walk once per year, using one of our published Trail Guides; and help us keep the Trail Guide up-to-date by letting us know of changes within your adopted Park.
You will need to be an APA Member. (If you’re not a member, it's easy to join). But you don’t need to be a botanist or historian. Our Trail Guides provide all the resources you need to conduct a Guided Walk with confidence, and you’ll have another Park Ambassador to support you, on the day.
Some of our Park Ambassadors like to share the role with a friend or family member.
We have more than 20 Park Ambassadors, but some Parks have missed out, and some Ambassadors have recently stepped down. Here are six parts of your Adelaide Park Lands, each of which has a vacancy for an APA Park Ambassador:
Park 11, including Mistletoe Park, Botanic Park and the Botanic Garden;
John E Brown Park (Park 27A) along with Mary Lee Park (Park 27B);
the formal gardens of North Adelaide: Palmer Gardens / Pangki Pangki (Park 28) and Brougham Gardens / Tantutitingga (Park 29); and
the two parks either side of Anzac Highway; i.e. “Edwards Park” (the southern part of Park 23) and Josie Agius Park / Wikaparntu Wirra (Park 22).
But wait, there’s more….
Becoming a Park Ambassador is only one of the many ways you can support your Park Lands with APA. Check out the full range of volunteer opportunities.
