All good things must come to an end. But some good things return.
You have only until 30 June to snap up one of the remaining finalist artworks from the 2023 Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize. On this page we’ve featured the most affordable works that are still available for purchase.
Each of the 11 works pictured in the two panels below is priced at no more than $1,000. Most are under $600.
Click on any of the images above to see the artwork on its own page. On each artwork’s page you will find the artist’s statement, artwork dimensions, and an “add to cart” button.
The two artworks in the banner image at the top of this page are:
Left: Laura Stewart “The Strength of Small Things” Spray paint on wood with metal chainmaile (37 x 30 cm) $380
Right: Lloma Mackenzie “Life” Hand-coloured linocut (71 x 65 cm) $990
Alternatively, browse the full list of the 80 finalists that were on display earlier this year at the Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize exhibition at the Festival Centre.
If you own a business, your purchase of an art work can be an instant write-off for tax purposes, provided it is displayed in your business premises.
Of course, your purchase also serves to support two worthy causes:
the artist who created it; and
the Adelaide Park Lands Association, as we continue our work to Explore, Inspire, Protect and Restore.
Remember sale of these artworks ends on 30 June 2023.
2025: the next iteration
We are planning to bring back the Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize in 2025. It’s too early to be definitive, but we expect that the total prize pool in 2025 will be no smaller than the $50,000 that was won by artists this year. We will also introduce a few improvements to the overall running of the event.
We expect that the schedule in 2024-25 will be similar to the schedule in 2022-23. We haven’t yet set any firm dates, but we expect that entries will open in the second half of 2024, and close early in 2025.
We are working behind the scenes to secure another eminent judging panel and hopefully book the same venue again for an exhibition in the first half of 2025.
If you haven’t done so already, please subscribe to the newsletter and/or follow the Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize on Facebook or Instagram to be kept informed of developments.
