For the second time in three months the Torrens Lake has been closed due to poor water quality.
Last time, at Christmas, it was an outbreak of E coli and the culprit was duck poo combined with low water flow from the drought.

On 31 March water quality was being tested again. It was not clear when the river and the Torrens Lake would be re-opened.
On Monday 31 March, Kadaltilla/ the Park Lands Authority advised on Facebook that:
“With the recent warm weather, water quality in River Torrens / Karrawirra Pari has been impacted.
“As a precaution, the lake is temporarily closed while we await further testing to confirm it's back within safe levels.
What this means:
We’re actively monitoring the water quality to ensure a safe return.
Signage is in place to keep everyone informed.
Next Steps:
Testing continues on Monday, 31 March.
We’ll provide updates as soon as we have new results.
Thank you for your understanding—your safety is our priority!
