"Seed" - Mirjana Dobson and Alexandra Hirst
As the first planned public park in the world, the Adelaide Park Lands stand as a reminder of what can be achieved when the natural environment is equally considered alongside urban development.
Supporting ecosystems and providing a refuge for our native plants and wildlife, our Park Lands equally offer to us a sanctuary within the heart of the city.
The work 'Seed', features twelve handblown and etched glasshouses that shelter a collection of ceramic seeds.
Each dome and the rare seed protected within, embodies the rich biodiversity and precious life sustained within this treasured landscape, and seeks to highlight the importance of preserving our Park Lands to inspire future generations.
